Misty fjord at dawn
Issue N°07 — Northern Light

Distant weather,
quiet light.

Nord Studio is a landscape photography practice working in the slow geography of the far north — Iceland, Lofoten, Greenland.

— About

A studio for photographs that arrive slowly — made in the field, edited in silence, printed by hand.

Founded in 2014 by photographer Sigrid Aune, Nord Studio works at the slow end of landscape photography — long approaches, long exposures, long waits for the weather to make up its mind.

Our images appear in editorial features, gallery editions, and the interiors of hotels and homes from Copenhagen to Kyoto. Each print leaves the studio numbered, signed, and accompanied by its own short field note.

— Words

Nord Studio sees weather the way other people read books. The work they delivered for our cover story was unlike anything we'd commissioned in a decade.
Elin Vatne· Editor, Atlas Quarterly
Quiet, patient, exact. The prints arrived heavier than I expected — in every sense.
